UWZ / Developer documentation
LiveMesh & impact handling.
Trace UWZ’s approved impact integration design from hit data to HISM selection and LiveMesh response.

Responsibilities
Two connected roles.
Resolve the impact.
Receive the collision, capture impact data and projectile configuration, and route eligible targets through the direct-hit or radial design.
Coordinate the transition.
Manage instance-to-LiveMesh promotion and the subsequent health, state and debris path.
The integration contract includes BPI_UWZ_DamageSource, hit component and hit item information. Use the released Blueprint reference for exact interfaces and node-level integration.
Parameters
Separate the inputs.
- Damage Amount
- Configured maximum damage for the impact profile.
- Impact Radius
- Radial selection area; zero selects the direct-hit path.
- Impact Strength
- Separate maximum impulse parameter for the configured impact response.
- Configured coverage
- 27 projectile and impact profiles in the approved configuration standard.
The approved radial design applies the same normalized linear falloff to damage and impact strength. Profile configuration is not a real-world ballistics or measured impulse model.
Interactive design explainer
One distance.
A shared response.
Clamp(1 − distance / radius, 0, 1)
Approved design explainer only. This control does not run Unreal, promote geometry or demonstrate runtime performance. Radius-zero direct hits bypass radial division.
Integration practice
Keep instance identity consistent.
When instanced geometry becomes interactive, subsequent impacts need to address the corresponding LiveMesh object. Keep target identity and duplicate-hit handling part of your integration review.
